While bidding adieu to 2009, lot of things come to my mind. On the personal front it has been a mixed year of sorts. I got my Engineering Degree finally which was good in one way but bad in another. Good because it would put an end to exams (atleast for now as I don’t intend to pursue my PG immediately) and Bad because I had graduated in a year when recession had gripped the whole world which meant I am still waiting for my joining date 🙁 .. However 6 months of Joblessness meant I could devote more time on my blog and watch lot of movies 🙂
The most awaited film of the year ‘3 IDIOTS’ is out and as they say “Sabar ka phal mitha hota hain” it has been worth the wait :). Although 3 idiots is 2 hours 50 min long, I can promise you that you won’t come out of the theater disappointed as the movie has many memorable moments which will stay with u for sometime if not forever. This is the sort of movie you’ll take home with a smile and a song on your lips, unless the hype has entirely messed up with your expectations.
It’s not often that we associate the word ‘FREE’ with Microsoft software/services as they seldom release their products for their users which don’t cost a dime!!!…Before u jump to any conclusion then let me make it clear that Microsoft isn’t giving away their RTM operating systems for free. Windows won’t ever compete with Linux on price but they do have a lot of applications to offer which cost NOTHING!!!! Hard to believe it right?? The freebies have been around for some time now but it’s just that we are not aware of it. Here are a few which are worth trying out.
One of the most eagerly awaited movies of recent times ‘PAA’ has generated huge interest amongst filmgoers for many reasons – first being the role reversal between Junior AB and BIG B, second being Amitabh Bachchan’s look in the movie and finally the rare and emotional subject around which the film revolves. I am glad that I watched it first day first show: D
A group of 20-25 people gain entry into a building by beating up the security guards and then they run up to the seventh floor with a frantic pace and barge into an office attacking the private security guards with baseball bats and man-handling the employees not even sparing a women receptionist. Furniture and fittings, glass partitions, LCD TV screens, OB vans were damaged in a matter of minutes. So what is this all about?? It is not a scene from a Bollywood flick which is being shot at a film studio but an outrageous attack by Shiv Sena activists on the offices of IBN Lokmat and IBN7, the Marathi and Hindi news channels of the IBN Network, in north-east Mumbai’s Vikhroli on Friday. Destruction in pics
Everyone is aware of the term Economics but how many of you have come across Socialnomics ??..Not many but i can assure you that most of you are using it without actually knowing what it actually is. Is all the hype surrounding social media justified or is it just a fad.Is it the next revolution? The video shows it’s not a fad and here are some hardcore statistics that show that it’s actually the biggest thing since the industrial revolution.
So what’s your opinion?? Is Social Media the next Industrial revolution??
He was just 16 when he donned the whites for the Indian team against Pakistan on Nov 15th 1989. He made just 15 runs, being bowled by another debutant Waqar Younis. He was even hit on the mouth by Waqar but continued to bat, in a blood-soaked shirt.Looking at his first innings nobody could ever imagine that one day he would become the most prolific batsmen in both forms of the game. Yes the man in question is none other than our very own Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He is just 10 days short of completing 20 years in international cricket and it’s incredible to see him play with the same passion that he had when he played his first game. If you have to describe his career then this has to be it…
Harold Wilson once said “He who rejects change is the architect of decay. The only human institution which rejects progress is the cemetery”. But all change is not growth, as all movement is not forward. The same applies to the no 1 social networking site Facebook which rolled out a revamped home page on Friday and has met with generally positive reactions from its millions of users.
Software giant Microsoft will formally launch its much touted OS Windows 7 in 34 languages on October 22nd globally. This time it’s not going to be a global extravaganza but instead Microsoft has adopted a very different style of marketing the new OS as it attempts to reach out more personally to its customers and how are they going to do that?? Many smaller events have been planned not by Microsoft but by Windows users who will be hosting their Windows 7 host parties to spread the good word on the new OS.
After all the talk about cost cutting in the government sector the austerity drive is back in news but this time it’s the corporate industry which is being targeted. Salman Khursheed. Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid advised India Inc to refrain from doling out “vulgar” salaries to CEOs. “I think when we are working on this (austerity), we can hardly say that we will shut our eyes on what salary the CEOs are going to take,” was his response when asked how the Government intends to control salaries of CEOs which at times appear vulgar.
