145 in 20 overs was never going to be challenging enough for the Royals who at one stage looked to be in big trouble but then the power house Yusuf pathan proved to be too hot to handle for the Daredevils. The royals didn’t have a good start and were struggling at 54/6 in 11 overs needing 91 f the last 9.But the key was that Smith was still there who scored 44 in 46 balls and was the anchor. One side you had the calm smith and on the other Yusuf who walked out after Shane Warne got stumped of the leggie Amit Mishra. We knew that he could hit 6’s but then the way he played to day was just breath taking.61 runs in 30 balls with 6 huge 6’s and 3 4’s was a treat to watch. For a change the spinners didn’t do too well though Amit Mishra got 3 wickets but Vettori got a stick from Pathan giving away 32 in 2 overs. Royals might have won this comfortably with 9 balls to spare but i must say their batting looks to be too weak. Apart from Yusuf and Smith there is no one in form and that is not a good sign for the champions.
Man of the Match: Yusuf Pathan
Earlier Delhi won the toss and decided to bat which meant royals would be chasing and they have lost both the matches chasing but Warne was not too sad on losing the toss as he would have bowled first. He was right in the end just marginally though. Delhi got off to a bad start yet again. With both Gambhir and Sehwag getting out to Mascarenhus it was again left to AB and Dilshan to steady the innings but Dilshan got out soon and the innings needed some momentum change as it was all royals at that point of time. Karthik didn’t do any good to his reputation by getting out for 4.At 49/4 in 8 overs Delhi was struggling and in came Vettori who along with De Velliers helped Delhi reach a respectable score of 143.Click Here for complete scorecard
