All good things have to come to an end and so did the chargers 4 match winning streak but not without a fight though from the chargers. Sehwag won the toss and put the chargers into bat. For the first in the tournament both the openers got out cheaply to the pacy left armer Nannes. The chargers scored 55 for the loss of 4 wickets in 10 overs..There was a complete momentum shift after the strategic timeout which saw the powerful Dwayne smith hitting boundaries at will. His knock of 48 from just 28 balls got the chargers 148 in their allotted 20 overs. I thought they were short by 10 to 15 runs.

Nevertheless 148 was a good defendable score given the form of the bowlers. The Delhi innings got off to the same start as has been the case all this IPL with none of the openers making any significant contribution. Dinesh Karthik (35 off 40) and Tillakaratne Dilshan who remained unbeaten on 52 off 46 balls, added 79 runs in the fourth wicket partnership which was the cornerstone of Delhi’s victory .Delhi might have won the match but they definitely lost out on the fair play award loosing all the 10 points for the not so good behaviour of dilshan after he hit the winning runs of Edwards. This was the last match for Edwards as he will be flying back to play for his team against England. ClickHere for complete scorecard.

Man of the Match: Nannes(Thank God Dilshan didnt get it)

It was a repeat of last year’s final when the Rajasthan Royals took on the Chennai Super Kings the only difference being the super kings were on the right side of victory this time. Shane Warne decided to field after winning the toss with Pretoria’s history of favouring the chasing side. The Super Kings brought in Shadab Jakati and Sudeep Tyagi in place of joginder sharma and Manpreet Singh Gony.

Super Kings have been relying on Hayden too much but this time Hayden got out for just 1 run when he was surprisingly bowled by Yusuf Pathan. Raina and Badrinath had a good partnership which saw some breathtaking shots especially from raina. He was in such good form that it was looking that he would ge t the first 100 of this IPL season but it was not to be.Apparently he was on 94 when he hit a boundary of Munaf and the score boarder got it wrong when he displayed 100 beside his name and Raina started celebrating and the next ball he skied one and got out for 98..I guess he didn’t know that he had not got a century till he entered the dugout but it was simply awesome innings from him which helped the kings post a very good target of 165.

The royals got off to a bad start with smith departing for just 2.There was a funny moment when the small guy asnodkar hit the ball and in the process broke the bails with his bat and coincidentally he was also caught. I guess this was the only instance where such a thing might have happened. The royals never looked like chasing this with basmen falling regularly and once their hero pathan got out it was known that it would be a tough ask and in the end it proved just that with the royals falling short by 38 runs. Their batting is looking awful right now. Click Here for the complete scorecard.
