It was yet another super charged performance from the Deccan Chargers who came on top of the Mumbai Indians to register their 3rd consecutive victory. Apparently they had won only 2 matches last IPL and this time they have won 3 in 3..Deccan Chargers batted first and Gilchrist was at his best yet again smashing boundaries and they quickly raced to 50 in 6 overs. But just when it was looking all good for the chargers Gilchrist got out chasing a wide one from Bravo. Dwayne Smith who was in for styris came out to bat and started aggressively. He too got out after scoring 35 of just 22 balls and the score was 124/2 in 13 overs. 200 was well on the cards but what happened afterwards was t otally unbelievable. Deccan Chargers lost 7 wickets for just 43 runs in their last 7 overs and could only manage 168, the same score that royal challengers had posted for kings 11 had won it with ease. Top scorer Gibbs was run out for a feisty 58.

Mumbai didn’t start well as RP got Jayasurya for 1 and the initial overs didn’t go for many runs but soon Duminy and Sachin got their act together and helped the score to 84 in 10 overs. Strategic timeout again proved to be the downfall of Mumbai Indians as has been for many teams. After the timeout it was a completely different game as Ojha struck twice to remove sachin and dhawan. Duminy and Bravo batted sensibly for some time before some brilliance in the field got duminy out with smith taking the catch and Ojha got his 3rd of the match. Harbhajan smashed some lusty blows but it was too late and Mumbai Indians fell short by 12 runs. Sachin’s dismissal was the key according to me as he was playing well and needed to stay there to get his team to the target but that didn’t happen and Chargers got their 3rd victory in as many matches.
