Chargers Demolish Royals

It was a clinical performance from the Chargers to hand the royals an embarrassing defeat. The Chargers made 2 changes and it was a good one .Vaas replacing Ryan Harris and Smith coming in for non-performing Gibbs. Both came good to seal a comprehensible win for the chargers. Gilly won the toss and decided to bat first. He had a new partner in Suman who took on the bowlers from the word go yet again. He knows only one way to play and he does it best always. Gilly hit a 6 of Morkel in the 1st over and that was it. He was adjudged Lbw which was again a poor decision. In came Rohit and out went Suman who tried hitting one out of the park but was again caught near the boundary which has been the pattern of his dismissals. Symonds came and started attacking from ball 1.He took on Warne and ripped him apart. Rohit was fooled by one from Jadeja and got stumped. Symonds too got bowled of the same bowler. It was left to Smith and Venu to carry the innings forward and Smith again showed why he is such a destructive batsmen in T20. He was on course to another 50 but got out for 47 of just 32 but he had done the work. Chargers Managed 166 which was looking highly improbable at the strategic break.

Its always about the start which sets the tone for the rest of the innings and surely it did for the royals but not in the positive sense but in the negative way. Vaas was playing his first game and he struck gold with the first ball when he got Smith, harsh decision but then it all evened up for the one that Gilly got. Then it was a strange dismissal of Lecarsendile. The ball went past the edge of his bat and there was a huge appeal for a caught behind but it was not given and the batsmen took few steps forward and Gilly was so clever in removing the bails and he was stumped 🙂 Asnodkar was playing his shots and was lucky to get away with some but nevertheless he was keeping the royals in the hunt but at the other end he was loosing partners and this time it was Ojha who was brilliantly run out by Ravi Teja. The dangerman Pathan came in and couldn’t do much as he was done in by a good slower ball from Ojha. Rohit Sharma once again proved that he has a golden arm. When he came on to bowl there was a mix-up and Asnodkar was run out. Then he bowled a beauty to get rid of raut. His wickets didn’t end there. He got Morkel and Warne in the same over. Chargers are getting into a habit of getting 2 wickets in one over quite often. The innings was wrapped up when Munaf was run out. All that they could manage was 113 in 19.3 overs.
