It was the first time that Yuvraj fired not just with the bat but was brilliant with the ball taking the first hatrick of the IPL season and Kings 11 lost. Cricket is not about one man show but a team game. If one man fires and the rest fail it is of no use and it was proved right yet again.Maybe it was a reminder from God for Zinta that if you dont exercise your vote then you and your team will have to suffer 😛

Kumble won the toss and elected to bat. Peiterson has left for his national duty so he took over the captaincy. Ryder failed once again and got out cheaply for 2.Goswami and Bishnoi to departed after hitting some shots .It was sensible play from Kallis and uthappa before Yuvraj struck not once but thrice to claim a hatrick. The first one being uthappa who tried to go downtown but a good catch from Katich saw him go back. Kallis was the next man to get out with the ball clipping the top of offstump. That was the end of the over and in his next over he struck again when he got Boucher plumb in front of the wicket and off he went to celebrate it. This was the very ground where he hit 6 6’s and now a hattrick. Royals were struggling at 80/6 but a wonderful cameo from Van der Merve got the royal challengers to a decent score of 147.Yusuf Abdullah got 4 and claimed the purple cap.

It was a new opening pair for Kings 11 as Bopara too had left to play in the upcoming series with WestIndies. Yuvraj replaced him and boy what an innings he played. He got to his 50 in no time and he struck 4 big sixes including one of Kumble but he got his revenge back when he Yuvraj hit one shot too many and was caught by kallis. They were cruising at this point of time with 70 on the board in 10 overs. Then came the turnaround. Strategic timeout again proved to be very costly for the batting team as they lost 2 quick wickets and then it was left to the 2 srilankans to make a match out of it .At one point of time 40 runs were required of 4 overs but some superb shots from Jayawardne got that rate down. Come the moment cometh the man and what a penultimate over from Kumble giving away 3 runs and a wicket.13 were required of the last over and Pathan smacked a boundary of the second ball but got out trying to hit one over Praveen Kumar. Piyush got bowled the next ball and Praveen was on hatrick but he couldn’t make it 2 in a day. This win would have definitely brought back a smile on the king of good times Mallaya. Man of the Match: Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj

SRK would have been thinking to book his air ticket to join his team in SA but it looks like he might have to wait before he gets the good news.2 days after being thrashed by the Mumbai Indians KKR would have definitely liked to make it even stevens and they almost did it but in the end Mumbai Indians were too good on the day.

Sachin won the toss and decided to bat. Jayasurya got out early but Sachin was looking good with 2 6’s .In came Harbhajan but he couldnt do much.I dont understand this from the Mumbai Indians. Agreed that Harbhajan can hit few shots but when you have batsmen like Duminy in your ranks why would you go with a spinner. Sachin got out after making 34.He has got a few starts but has not capitalized. There was nothing much to talk about the Mumbai Indian innings but Duminy who was again brilliant crafting a wonderful 50 with 4 hits over the boundary and they ended up with 147 .

KKR had a new opening pair with Mccullum giving way to Dada but that didn’t help one bit with Ganguly playing on to his stumps of Zaheer and Gayle got bowled to Zaheer in his 2nd over. They were struggling at 8/2 in 2.2 overs. But Hodge and van WYK strung a superb partnership of 89 but then Napier got WYK and the batsmen who followed came and went. It was surprising that Mccullum come so late and he couldn’t manage much anyway. Click here for the complete scorecard.
