MUMBAI SEALINK – India’s latest showcase to world

Mumbai MarvelIts been 5 years since the PM Manmohan Singh expressed his desire to see Mumbai one day become Shanghai.  Why Shanghai ?? Shanghai and Mumbai. Two of Asia’s greatest cities, washed by the seas, blessed by history. Both began their modern journey as British Empire’s subjects – one became a fascination after the first Opium War in 1842, the other, a clutch of villages, had been gifted as dowry to Charles II almost two hundred years earlier. Not much headway has been made towards making this dream a reality. But on June 30th we could see an Engineering Marvel – Bandra- Worli sealink finally be opened to the Public.

Bravo’s all round show helps WI edge out India

It was one of the days when “nothing really worked” said Dhoni at the post match presentation. He was being too mild in his criticism if i can say that towards team INDIA’s lackluster performance against West Indies. It’s unlike the younger Dhoni who used to speak his mind in his hay days. India by virtue of being the champions in 2007 had been placed in an easier group and didn’t have to sweat it out to reach the super eight stage whereas Wes Indies were in the group of death and managed to beat Australia convincingly to enter the super eights.

Airtel MTV Connected-new game show from MTV

Several channels are bringing about a change in their programmes to suit the choice of their viewers, most of whom are youngsters. The same goes with MTV. They are never behind in coming up with new shows to attract the youth. There are some reality shows like Roadies which has already completed 6 seasons and has been a huge hit with the viewers looking good for more in the future and then you have shows like Splitsvilla which rocked the first season but the second season was not such a big hit with the viewers. The most recent one “Fast and Gorgeous” seemed to have made up for Splitsvilla 2 debacle.

French toast for FedEx

Oh !!A Kiss well worth its while … (photos )

It was a day that Federer had been waiting for over 4 years and finally he conquered the French Open title in his 4th attempt. His opponent this time was Soderling who had eased Federer’s path by upsetting the four time champion at Roland Garros Nadal last Sunday in the fourth round. Considering that Federer had a 9-0 record prior to this match he was the firm favourite but Soderling was not to be taken lightly as Soderling not only shocked Nadal — and the entire tennis world — but also beat No. 10 Nikolay Davydenko, No. 12 Fernando Gonzalez and No. 14 David Ferrer. But it was meant to be Federer’s day and not even a court intruder, gusting winds or rain showers could stop the Swiss from sweeping past Sweden’s Robin Soderling 6-1, 7-6, 6-4 on Sunday to achieve sporting greatness.

Bing Zips Past Yahoo To Be Number 2 in Search slot!

A few days back I had posted about Bing, Microsoft’s modified Live Search. In that post I had mentioned that Microsoft would be spending close to 100 million $ on advertising to promote Bing and it seems that the campaign is already working wonders. Believe it or not Bing has gone past Yahoo to take the No 2 slot both in the US and worldwide. Even the Microsoft guys will be stunned with this piece of news. On one side Yahoo will be shell shocked and on the other side Google might be wondering what’s so different with Bing which has resulted in such a positive response from the people worldwide.

Orange rule the roost on Lord’s greens

It was supposed to be the biggest tournament in ICC calendar this year. The start of the T20 World  cup was not as glamorous and entertaining as the IPL was in South Africa but nevertheless after a few hiccups thanks to the weather, the tournament finally got underway and it couldn’t have got a more exciting match than the one we had between the hosts England and Netherlands.
