Its been quite a while, almost 2 months since a big budget Hollywood flick released in India but the wait has been worth it. The sequel to Transformers.Revenge of the fallen finally released to packed houses, even though it was being screened only in IMAX before being released in other multiplexes like PVR and INOX.
Tipped to be the biggest movie of the summer there were lot of expectations, that’s the problem… “It’s just too bloody big. Epic, spectacular but unfortunately far, far too long; the film proves that when it comes to Michael Bay blockbuster movies, you can have too much of a good thing “quoted a critic. I usually like to have a look at the reviews before daring to go to any movie. But Transformers was one movie which i was going to watch no matter what the critics had to say.
I watched it on Wednesday and the theatre was full as expected. The story begins with Autobots and the military waging a secret war against the Decepticons. As more of the Autobots continue to resurface, it becomes clear that the Transformers have been part of Earth’s history for longer than they’d led mankind to believe. The problem arises when a group of bureaucrats thinks that it is all because of the Autobots that the Decepticons keep on appearing time and again. Optimus Prime will not give up and he turns to Sam and asks him to become a human advocate, someone who will convince mankind that the Autobots should be allowed to stay. Sam however wants to lead a normal life and refuses to help. Little does he realize that at a later point he will have to get himself involved in the ongoing battle between the Autobots and Decepticons.
The special effects in the movie are awesome and far better than what we saw in Transformers 1. The Autobots and the Decepticons are so real and they are very expressive too when they interact with the actors. Though I must say the dialogue delivery isn’t that good. But in a movie like Transformers nobody would bother about the dialogues as long as they have lots of action and this movie has plenty of jaw dropping action scenes. The director goes on to reveal more history about the Transformers in this flick. The use of the magnificent Pyramids proved to be an excellent backdrop for the climax.
Megan Fox has little to do except look great in a tank top and tight jeans especially in the early scenes. This is not an all out action movie. The movie was 2 hours and 20 minutes long and for an Indian viewer that is normal but for those in the west it would seem to be beast long. But who cares. As long as the movie is entertaining nobody is complaining. The movie is definitely worth watching..Dont go by the reviews.. Just go and watch it
