Bangalore Royal Challengers Innings

Rajasthan holds the record for successfully defending a score of 150 or more but tonight they were 20 runs short and hence they had to do something special if they had to restrict the Challengers. When Kamran Khan bowled Kallis for a Duck, the Jaipur crowd must have thought they were in for another miracle from the Shane Warne’s soldiers. However Kevin Pietersen took complete control of the innings with an aggressive knock of 62 from mere 29 balls. 60 runs were added for the third wicket between Pietersen and Robin Uthappa. Warne who won the game for Royals against Deccan Chargers couldn’t recreate that magic as the Bangalore side got home with 24 balls to spare. PHOTOS

Rajasthan Royals Innings

Earlier Warne won the toss and decided to bat hoping to get somewhere close to 160 but he was shell shocked to see Lumb get run out once again. Amit Paunikar didn’t stay long to show the world why Warne thinks he is similar to Aravinda de Dilva. He went for a golden duck as a lovely bouncer from Vinay caught him napping early in his innings. Rajasthan slipped to 21 for 3 in 3.2 overs with Ojha playing a rank bad shot off Pankaj Singh. Shane Watson and Jhunjhunwala attempted a repair job but they both perished in a space of 10 balls reducing Rajasthan Royals to 58/5 in 70 balls. Steyn surprised Yusuf pathan with a full delivery while other bowlers bowled short stuff at him. Yusuf was rooted to his crease and the ball went through and hit his stumps. Adam Voges and Abhishek Raut, ensured that the Royals scored a decent total which in the end was knocked off in a flash. PHOTOS
