What a tournament this has turned out to be. 2 teams which had finished at the bottom last year will now be fighting it out in the finals this year for the coveted trophy. Before the tournament started Delhi followed by Superkings were tipped to be the favourites but both have been outclassed in the semis. In today’s Semifinal Bangalore proved to be too good for the Superkings who were lacklusture in their performance. The Royal Challengers who were branded as a test team last year have won 6 in a row and look good to with the all important 7th one too.  Read more... Yes we finally know who will play whom in the semi finals and it took the last league match to decide that..What better can you ask for IPL this year.  The Royal Challengers are on a roll winning their 4th consecutive match and will definitely give some headache for Dhoni when they meet in the semi finals on Saturday. The Chargers on the other hand have lost 3 in a row and will definitely will be hoping that there is a change of fortune tomorrow for the all important semifinal match against the Table leaders Delhi..  Read more... Complacent Delhi keep Royal Challengers hopes alive

It was a Do or Die match for the Royal Challengers if they had to keep their hopes of entering the semifinals alive. Set a modest 135 to chase, they lost Uthappa very early. Kallis and Dravid got together and they had a very good partnership of 70 of 69 balls. Dravid got out 2 overs after the strategic break leaving the Royal Challengers to get 8 runs per over for the rest of the 7 overs.Taylor came in and played a cameo of 25 runs of just 12 balls which included 3 6′s. That brought the rate down and Kallis Boucher got the Royals home with 1 over remaining. It was a clash of Titans and there was going to be only one winner and it was Warne who walked away with the Man of the Match award for leading his side to victory against Mumbai. 3 runs from 6 balls with 3 wickets in hand. Everyone would have put their money on Mumbai Indians for sure but Munaf Patel had different ideas. He bowled a superb last over giving away just 1 run taking 1 wicket and there were 2 run outs effected. The over had all the drama that you would expect in T20 but for Mumbai it was once again a Heartbreak . It had happened last year too when Mumbai Indians lost to Kings 11 of the last ball. Nothing is going right for the KKR. For once they posted a good total, their highest in this IPL and they had to end up on the losing side.  KKR again started badly losing Dada and Ghosh under 6 overs and just 21 runs on the board. That brought Mccullum and David Hussey together. Hussey was playing his first match and didnt look rusty at all. But the star of the innings was Mccullum who finally managed to get something going for him. He was striking the ball sweetly and along with Hussey got the knight riders past 100 in the 10th over. But Hussey got out for a quick fire 43 of 27 but Mccullum was going great guns and he stayed there till the end to give knight riders a perfect score to defend.  Read more... Mumbai score an easy win Vs the Challengers, KKR slump to their 8th defeat

It was a match where both the teams wanted a win badly to revive their hopes in IPL but someone had to lose and it had to be Royal Challengers losing by 16 runs to Mumbai Indians. In an earlier encounter the Royals had beaten them convincingly by 9 wickets but they couldn’t repeat it today. Set 158 for target the Royals didn’t have any momentum in their innings as they kept losing wickets regularly. Kallis and Kohli got starts but couldn’t continue for long. At the end of 10 overs they reached 58/4 with Kallis Kohli Uthappa and Dravid back in the hut. Dravid was brilliantly run out by a direct hit from Malinga. It was left to Boucher who was waging a lone battle as he was losing partners on the other side.. 40 were required of the last 2 but Boucher and Kumble could only manage 23 with 16 coming of the last over of Malinga.  Read more...
