Royal Challengers who were sitting pretty at the top of the table were surprised by Delhi who finally broke their 3 match losing streak to hand Bangalore their first home loss this season. The key to Delhi winning was simple – David Warner came out with all guns blazing and Kedar Jadhav provided the right finish to help Delhi post a stiff target of 183 and the bowlers did their job quite well to restrict the Challengers to 166/9 in the stipulated 20 overs. It was a clash between two teams placed at the bottom of the IPL standings and Rajasthan Royals came on top of Kings XI Punjab who were comprehensively beaten by 31 runs thanks to the and disciplined bowling effort from the Royals. By virtue of this win they jumped to joint 4th position whereas Kings XI is at the bottom having lost 4 of their 5 games. Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils had already done it and on Sunday it was the turn of Chennai to Showcase their talent : Not just how to lose a match but lose it after managing to get it to Super Over which KKR and DD couldn’t do :D. They scripted their own loss and maybe next time when Priyadarshan(who had come to watch the match) makes a movie he can have his script written by the Chennai team. It would surely be a Box office hit just like how the TRP ratings must have sky rocketed for sure during this game. Kings XI won their first game of this IPL season and Preity Zinta was on cloud 9. Way back in 2009 on May 13th the chargers faltered against Delhi to throw away a match which was there for the taking and today on 21st March 2010 Delhi returned the favour. It was Bhatia who did the damage that time around and today it was Symonds who turned it around for the chargers. It was an all round performance from the Deccan boys as Delhi crashed to their 3rd successive defeat in 5 matches and Chargers winning their 2nd home game to carry their winning run to 3 matches. The challengers didn’t put a foot wrong in the double header on Saturday as they beat Mumbai Indians comprehensively by 7 wickets. Mumbai were on a roll having performed exceptionally well in their first 2 matches but all that didn’t matter today as it was RCB all the way. They notched up their 3rd straight win to zoom to the top of the points table. It took a disciplined bowling performance from the Bangalore boys to restrict the strong Mumbai batting order to a modest 151. Once that was done Kallis (66) took care of the rest as he continued his unbeaten streak in this season. Rajasthan Royals finally managed to open their account in the IPL when they thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by 34 runs. Having lost 3 matches in a row, Shane Warne couldn’t have asked for a better performance from his boys. Although it has to be said that it was a intent-less chase from Kolkata as they gift wrapped the game for the royals.

Deccan Chargers created History by winning their first home game ever in IPL at cuttack and also registering their first win against Kings XI in 5 matches but not before Irfan Pathan tried to pull off the improbable with an audacious innings. With this result Kings XI slumped to its third straight defeat in the competition.
