Mumbai score an easy win Vs the Challengers, KKR slump to their 8th defeat

It was a match where both the teams wanted a win badly to revive their hopes in IPL but someone had to lose and it had to be Royal Challengers losing by 16 runs to Mumbai Indians. In an earlier encounter the Royals had beaten them convincingly by 9 wickets but they couldn’t repeat it today. Set 158 for target the Royals didn’t have any momentum in their innings as they kept losing wickets regularly. Kallis and Kohli got starts but couldn’t continue for long. At the end of 10 overs they reached 58/4 with Kallis Kohli Uthappa and Dravid back in the hut. Dravid was brilliantly run out by a direct hit from Malinga. It was left to Boucher who was waging a lone battle as he was losing partners on the other side.. 40 were required of the last 2 but Boucher and Kumble could only manage 23 with 16 coming of the last over of Malinga.  Read more... This has to be the best match of this IPL season. We have had a match involving a super over and so many low scoring close contests but this one was different .It was a high scoring thriller and you could hardly choose between the two teams in the end but as there has to be a looser and a winner in every game,the Super Kings held their nerves in the end and emerged victorious.  Read more... Bad fielding, Bad Umpiring or just Bad Luck, Nothing seems to be going KKR way. Yet again they got the game close but were not good enough to be on the right side. Set a modest 154 to chase kings the kings got off to a bad start with Sangakkara skying one and was wonderfully caught by the wicketkeeper for a golden duck. It was the first time that Yuvraj fired not just with the bat but was brilliant with the ball taking the first hatrick of the IPL season and Kings 11 lost. Cricket is not about one man show but a team game. If one man fires and the rest fail it is of no use and it was proved right yet again.Maybe it was a reminder from God for Zinta that if you dont exercise your vote then you and your team will have to suffer :P  Read more... Chargers winning streak ends & Super kings score an emphatic victory against the Royals

All good things have to come to an end and so did the chargers 4 match winning streak but not without a fight though from the chargers. Sehwag won the toss and put the chargers into bat. For the first in the tournament both the openers got out cheaply to the pacy left armer Nannes. The chargers scored 55 for the loss of 4 wickets in 10 overs..There was a complete momentum shift after the strategic timeout which saw the powerful Dwayne smith hitting boundaries at will.
