King XI done in by Lumb’s blitzkrieg

Michael Lumb brings up his stunning half century against Kings XI PunjabIt was a match between two teams, whose intentions were completely different. Kings XI were playing for PRIDE and the Royals were playing for the PRIZE. Forget about pride the Kings XI were thrashed by Rajasthan Royals who were playing their first match at their home ground Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur.  Set to chase a modest 157 the Royals made a mockery of the target by getting the runs with 5 overs to spare.

Vijay and Bollinger star in Chennai’s win

Murali Vijay was in murderous mood, taking the Royals bowling to the cleaners.Temperatures were soaring at the city of Chennai but that didn’t stop Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals to produce an enthralling contest. The crowd was treated to a run feast on a sleeping beauty. The in-form batsmen Vijay came up with an outstanding century which was studded with 8 boundaries and 11 DLF Maximums to get Chennai to a record score of 246/5. The Rajasthan Royals gave a great chase to come so close thanks to Naman Ojha and Watson but Bollinger on debut was a star performer with the ball for the Super Kings to ensure that CSK got back to winning ways.

Rajasthan Royals' batsman Naman Ojha in action during his superb knock against Chennai.Chennai Super Kings slumped to their 4th straight defeat as the Royals beat them by 16 runs to register their 4th straight win. After having made 177 thanks to a brilliant innings from Ojha who hit 80 from 49, the bowlers from the Royals responded well and survived a late onslaught from Chennai Super Kings to register their 10th win out of 11 matches at home. No wonder they call it a fortress.
